DKL International is dedicated to saving lives by developing, manufacturing and continuously updating the most advanced human-specific sensor technology in the world for a wide variety of military, security, search and rescue, biomedical and other applications.

Our passion is to deliver products and services that exceed expectations consistently and efficiently. We do this by taking the initiative to seize opportunities and to improve our performance continuously, while maintaining our integrity, our values and the trust of our customers and employees.

DKL International strives to maintain the highest standards in its relationships with customers, dealers, and employees, and to provide jobs for skilled American workers. The company’s manufacturing is housed in Pennsylvania.

LEADERSHIP

Howard Sidman, CEO & President – Prior to founding DKL in 1998, Mr. Sidman held a variety of senior posts in the United States Navy, culminating in senior executive positions in Departments of State and Defense during the Reagan, Bush and Clinton administrations.  In 1994, Mr. Sidman was appointed Executive Director of the Navy Department’s Combined Federal Campaign.  Mr. Sidman retired from the Navy in 1995 and founded H. B. Sidman & Associates, a firm providing strategic planning and market analysis for developing companies. Mr. Sidman graduated from the United States Naval Academy, as well as holding a Masters Degree in International Affairs from Catholic University and graduated from the National War College.

Steven Dabbs, Chief Financial Officer – Mr. Dabbs has more than 20 years of experience in the technology and real estate industries. He has founded several successful Internet / ASP companies including an early Internet web hosting company in 1993, which he sold to a publicly traded company in 1998. He served as Vice President of Johnstown American Companies, and was a CPA and tax accountant with Price Waterhouse. He holds a Masters of Accounting from University of Georgia.

Robert W. Van Dine, Vice President, Engineering and Product Development – For the last twelve years, Mr. Van Dine has been a management consultant engaged in technology, strategic planning, operations and engineering in the manufacturing industry.  Prior to that, he had ten years of experience in management, engineering and operations at Bethlehem Steel.  He graduated from the United States Naval Academy in 1973 and served five years as a commissioned naval officer. 

Thomas Afilani, Inventor - Mr. Afilani is the inventor and creative genius behind this new technology.  He has more than twenty years of experience in the research, development and production of detection equipment.

William Hutson, PhD., Chief Scientist - Having been involved with intellectual property since the early 1990s, Dr. Hutson has served as Chief Scientist overseeing large programs at multiple companies.
